• Enable context sharing across your AI tools
• Perform semantic search on your project data
• Secure your account and prevent abuse
• Improve our service and develop new features

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices:

• Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest
• Database access is protected with row-level security
• API keys are hashed and cannot be recovered if lost
• We use Supabase for secure, compliant data storage

4. Third-Party Services

Contextable integrates with third-party AI services when you choose to use them:

• OpenAI: For embeddings and semantic search (if enabled)
• Anthropic (Claude): When you use Claude Desktop integration
• ChatGPT: When you use ChatGPT Custom GPT integration
• Local Ollama: Data stays on your machine (privacy mode)

When using privacy mode with Ollama, your data never leaves your machine.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We only share data:

• With AI services you explicitly connect (Claude, ChatGPT)
• When required by law
• To protect our rights and prevent abuse

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data at any time
• Export your data in standard formats
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Revoke API key access to third-party integrations
• Use privacy mode to keep data on your local machine

7. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

• All project data is permanently deleted within 30 days
• API keys are immediately revoked
• Backup copies are deleted according to our retention schedule

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use minimal cookies for:

• Authentication (session management)
• User preferences
• Security (CSRF protection)

We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

Contextable is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the service.
